LEAGUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
For many years now the CCA has been using software, kindly supplied by Keith Smith of Hartlepool Chess club, to maintain the league tables, fixture lists and match results. However, around two years ago, the ECF designed a League Management System (LMS) for use by local chess associations. Since that time its popularity has steadily grown and there are now around 65 associations actively using it.
This season CCA has decided to run both systems in parallel with one another, as an experiment. Team captains are asked to submit match results in the usual way and the LMS will be maintained by your Match Organiser.
Please regularly check in to the LMS at https://ecflms.org.uk/lms/ and click on ‘Cleveland Chess Association’ under the ‘Organisations’ heading. The rest should be self explanatory.
The LMS also has the facility for clubs to enter results of their own internal tournaments and if clubs wish to use this they should first apply for a login ID by contacting Malcolm Peacock on the contact form at https://ecflms.org.uk/lms/contact . Once this is done they can contact me with the event name and I will set it up on the CCA section of the LMS and set up that person as the event ‘owner’. This will enable that person to enter match results for that tournament, arrange fixtures, etc.
This should act as an excellent experiment for designated people to gain experience using the LMS which, hopefully, they can cascade to club captains in preparation for next season when it is intended to set up captains as club ‘owners’ and allow them to enter league and KO cup match results.
Your feedback would be appreciated.
