TEAM UK 13 - 7 TEAM USA

A great result for our very first ever online International match played on the Global Chess Server (GCS). Saturday March 16th 2002 8pm GMT.

Joining us live on GCS was none other than the President of the British Chess Federation
Mr. Gerry Walsh (Handle ELP). The start was delayed until 9pm (I think this was a tactic
used by the USA to psyche us out) which increased the tension in Channel 6.

8.45pm an announcement was made - the pairings were now been done
9.00pm and the pairings were relayed to Channel 6 - GAME ON!!

UK had White on all boards to start and 10mins each on the Clock.
Round 1 Result - TEAM UK 8 - 2 TEAM USA

Then Team UK had Black on all boards for Round 2
Round 2 Results - TEAM UK 5 - 5 TEAM USA
