During the recent heavy rain Geoff Garnett and John Garnett’s flats got flooded out big time. They are currently living in B&B and will not be able to return home for many months. They have lost many possesions.
Geoff is very keen to have the quick play events however has asked Ernie to take entries. Please contact Ernie Lazenby (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you wish to enter. We hope as many people as possible enter the first event, Geoff needs some cheering up and support for his event will be a big fillip.
We all hope the Garnett family are ok and send our best wishes at this difficult time for them.

17th – 19th May, Thistle Hotel, Middlesbrough – Entry Form
Entries are invited for the 7 round Cleveland Individual Tournament for 2012/13 season.
To enter you should e-mail the organiser at email@example.com or telephone 01609 882420 to Peter Archer by Monday 24th September, giving details of name, grade at July 2012, e-mail, home telephone and mobile numbers. The July 2012 grade will be used throughout the tournament, both to arrange pairings and to determine the grade-based winners.
Entry is free – and where else can you get that these days!
Each round will last for at least four weeks. After each draw the organiser will publish details on the web site, and e-mail details to each pair. The player with the black pieces will be at home, and is responsible for arranging the match.
There are cash prizes for winners of the open event and for the minor event for players graded U145. There are also prizes for the best scores U165 and U120.
I am hoping to get as many games as possible in the final round to be played on the same night at one of the CCA club venues, but details will have to wait for the league fixtures to be arranged. In the meantime please let me know if you think this is a good idea.
