MINUTES
Minutes were referred to the next A.G.M.. Certain members disagreed with the recorded voting on a resolution, regarding Rule 14.
MATTERS ARISING
It was requested that in future minutes of the previous meeting be forwarded with the Agenda of any proposed meeting as well as distributed after the meeting. T
Kiddle registered his objection to the stated voting on the rule 14 proposal, this despite J Banford confirming the minutes correct according to his own personal
notes.
OFFICERS REPORTS
LEAGUE ORGANISER
Ray stated that he had enjoyed the role during the past year and had been able to put in more effort to the
task after Xmas as a result of an ease in work commitments. Results had been forwarded in good time.
Teams were reminded that all games must be confirmed 7 days before the scheduled date.
The "D" Division was congratulated on the completion of it's fixtures despite the number of fixtures
involved. Hartlepool A failed to complete the season and withdrew from the league and Hartlepool C failed to fulfill three fixtures. Final League tables and results
were distributed and the various winners congratulated. The meeting thanked Ray for Organising the leagues.
SECRETARY
Details of clubs for the 1997 Yearbook were requested for the end of the month to meet the BCF deadline.
Members were reminded of the two new congresses in the area being held for the second time those being
the Peterlee and Hartlepool weekend congresses. It was also announced that Steve Roe was in the process of organising a International one day Quickplay event for
1997.
Notification of an increase in game fee to 23p for the 1996/7 season and to 25p the following season had
been received. The Executive Meeting is provisionally arranged for the second week in September.
TREASURER
Report attached. The Accounts were accepted and financial proposals accepted unanimously.
COUNTY CAPTAIN
Under 150 team captained by Stuart Morgan failed to qualify for the final stages.
Under 125 team won the NCCU stages losing in the Semi Final to Cheshire whom they had beaten in the
NCCU stages, the team Captained by Bryan Hesler.
Under 100 team in it's first season was Captained by Chris Carrabine after winning the NCCU stage the
lost the Quarter Final on Board Count.
A proposal to present team members with medals for their success in the NCCU stages was passed.
INDIVIDUAL ORGANISER
Results were issued and the players congratulated on there efforts and a successful competition.
JUNIOR ORGANISER
No report submitted.
GRADER
The grades for the next season will once again be published in the County Handbook. Any player who has
played chess in the last 15 years will have a grade that can be used to provide an estimated grade that may
be used in the County Leagues. Club Championship results if submitted can also provide a grade for new players. Club results for inclusion in grading must be
submitted by next week. The error in Cleveland grades for last year was as a result of the recipient at the BCF damaging the computer disc on which it was submitted.
Any registrations after the start of the season should be notified to the grader as early as possible for allocation of BCF grading code. This to include all players
taking part in club championships.
NCCU / BCF AFFAIRS
The Links Primary school has been given the NCCU award.
The NCCU has proposed under our suggestion an amendment to the County Championship Rules
namely that ungraded players should not be allowed to play in the Under 100 competition.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
All officers were re-elected.
LEAGUE FEES
The fees were set as part of the Treasurer's report.
RULE CHANGES

A counter proposal of five points was rejected 19-6
Initial motion was then accepted 17-12

PRESENTATION EVENING
The presentation evening has been arranged at a smaller venue the Stokesley Social Club, tickets have been distributed.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Next year sees Redcar celebrate it's Centenary.
Gawain Jones and Bret Addison gained places in the National representative teams.
The Katalco One Day Quickplay is to have Three GMs and Five IMs present and will be held on the 8th March 1997.
