Key Points CCA Executive Meeting 13th September 2006
*Letters from Martin Regan on ECF matters - noted
*Letter from Derek Priestley re. possibility of a Whitby/Stokesley merger - left to clubs, but must inform League Organiser by next week
* Communications
i) Any problems encountered by clubs to be communicated by the club secretary to CCA Secretary
ii)Any action proposed to be taken by the League Organiser should be communicated to the appropriate club secretary prior to any release on the CCA Website.
*League Organiser needed to know who are captains for coming season; venues (if any changes from previous season). Deadline 20th September 2006.
*Alternative schemes for the 21 teams entered this year were discussed. Agreed to have 7 teams in each league this season. To commence 2nd and 3rd weeks in October.
Each team to play 12 matches.
*Brian Whitaker volunteered to be the U-125 Captain for this season.
*The chairperson outlined the situation in which Mick Creaney, who was declining to join the ECF through the MO scheme, but opting for the "NMS" scheme, had tendered
his resignation as grader. Steve Henderson agreed to step in to fill this post.
*Venues
Agreed to diversify the venues for AGM and Exec Meetings to ensure no club consistently disadvantaged by having to travel long distances. To be left to officers to
decide.
Re. the KO Cup, Westgarth Social Club was always used for First two rounds, on account of the room capacity there. Need alternative venue(s) for later rounds. To be
left to League Organiser.
*Local Events
Discussion took place on two sets of local events
i) Although Sean Marsh was not participating in the CCA this year, he was organising a series of events. These would not be under CCA auspices, but will be graded as a
game fee is involved.
ii)There was concern expressed that Graham Marshall was pulling his events out of the ECF calendar and that possibly no discounts were to be offered to CCA members.
After some discussion it was decided that we had no power to overturn an AGM decision to subsidise GM's events. To seek clarification on the question of discounts and
inform members accordingly.
*Prizes
Steve Dauber read out the list of winners and runners up and amounts offered (to be printed in minutes)
Other Business
* The question was asked as to why positions at one meeting were being overturned at the next. It was pointed out that where situations were fluid and then radically
changed e.g. NCCU/NMS/ECF, we had to change our positions accordingly.
* The chair was offering to present a "Chairman's Cup" for the winners of each division, over and above the League trophies, from 2006/07.
* It was agreed that Mike Creaney was entitled to play for the County U 125 team in the preliminary rounds.
* Is to be a place in the English Championship for the winner of the Cleveland Individual
