Redcar immediately lodged an appeal against this decision & in accordance with rule 9.2, I appointed an Appeals Committee to consider this. The Appeals Committee have completed their deliberations and have concluded that the Appeal be upheld for the following reasons: 1. The rules do not state which board should be defaulted. 2. The players that did play, played in board order 3. No advantage accrued to Redcar ‘B’ 4. Both Captains agreed to default board 1 As a result Redcar ‘B’s point shall be immediately reinstated. This decision is final as determined by the rules. The Committee further recommended that this rule 8.4 needs to be clarified as soon as possible.
